Climate change - By Kapil Sharma

Climate change refers to the long-term changes in global temperatures, precipitation patterns, sea levels, and other aspects of the Earth's climate system. These changes are primarily caused by human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and agriculture, which release large amounts of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

The most significant greenhouse gas is carbon dioxide (CO2), which traps heat in the atmosphere and causes the Earth's temperature to rise. As the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere continues to increase, the Earth's climate is changing rapidly, with effects that include rising sea levels, more frequent and intense heatwaves, droughts, floods, and storms.

Climate change is a global problem that requires collective action from governments, businesses, and individuals. To address the issue, many countries have signed international agreements, such as the Paris Agreement, which aims to limit global warming to well below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels and pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Addressing climate change will require a shift towards cleaner and more sustainable forms of energy, greater efficiency in resource use, and a transition to low-carbon, climate-resilient economies. It will also require efforts to protect and restore ecosystems, reduce waste, and promote sustainable lifestyles.
