Google Stadia is a cloud gaming service that was launched by Google in November 2019. It allows users to play video games on various devices, including laptops, desktops, TVs, and mobile devices, without requiring a console or high-end gaming PC.

Stadia games run on Google's servers and are streamed to the user's device, with the player's inputs being sent back to the server in real-time. This means that games can be played without the need for downloading or installing the game on the device, as everything is processed and rendered in the cloud.

Stadia also offers various features, such as State Share, which allows players to share their game state with others, and Crowd Play, which enables players to join a streamer's game directly from a YouTube video. Additionally, Stadia supports multiplayer and cross-platform play, allowing users to play with friends on different devices.

Stadia offers a subscription service, Stadia Pro, which provides access to a library of games, discounts, and 4K resolution streaming. However, users can also purchase individual games on the platform.

While Stadia has received praise for its convenience and accessibility, it has faced criticism for its limited game library, high pricing of individual games, and inconsistent performance depending on the user's internet connection. Google has also announced that it will be shutting down its in-house game development studios, which has led to concerns about the future of the platform.
